Radek Rudnicki

Dr Radek Rudnicki is a composer, sound artist, and academic whose work has consistently explored the outer edges of contemporary music and sound practice. Over the years, he has built a career that crosses boundaries: between disciplines, between institutions, and between different ways of thinking about sound.

His practice spans performance, installation, data sonification, and research. He has collaborated with scientists, musicians, engineers, and visual artists, and worked with organisations such as NASA, the European Space Agency, and the Rutherford Appleton Laboratory. In these collaborations, he has developed creative ways of translating scientific data, space debris, climate patterns, particle physics, into immersive sound.

His performances and installations have been presented at venues and festivals across Europe, North America, and Asia, including the Tate Modern, Tokyo University of the Arts, Café OTO, and Moogfest. His work is known for its clarity, structure, and responsiveness, and for a kind of openness, an ability to adapt and collaborate with others in very different contexts.

Outside of performance, Radek has made a strong contribution as an educator. Through teaching, residencies, and his involvement in electronic music education initiatives, he has helped shape how sound and technology are taught, not just as tools, but as part of a wider critical and artistic practice. He brings a thoughtful, research-led approach to how electronic music is understood and passed on.
