He developed Minecraft.

If you’re a gamer they’re three words that tell you all you need to know about the impact Chris van der Kuyl’s had on the industry.

His Dundee-based company, 4J Studios, is behind the console version of the phenomenon.

Minecraft is of course one of the most successful videogames of all time, selling more than Super Mario Bros and Grand Theft Auto combined.

And amazingly this is just one of a string of incredible achievements for Chris.

He’s Chairman of TVSquared, a major data analytics company. He’s the founding Chairman of Entrepreneurial Scotland which represents all of Scotland’s entrepreneurial talent.

He’s a visiting professor of digital entertainment at Abertay and he was also elected as one of the youngest Fellows of the Royal Society of Edinburgh.

He was awarded an honorary doctorate in 2017.
