Professor David Alexander

Professor David Alexander has had an incredible career.

He’s an expert in the psychological aspects of trauma and has been involved in more than a dozen major incidents, including the response to the Piper Alpha oil disaster in 198 which he led.

Professor Alexander’s a Principal Advisor to the UK police force and is an Associate of the Scottish Police College and the Scottish Institute for Policing Research.

And that’s only scratching the surface. 

He’s an Honorary Professor at Pakistan’s National University of Science and Technology and was the ‘Distinguished Trauma Visitor’ on trauma management in Johannesburg hospitals.

He’s also been an expert witness after several fatal shootings by UK police and an expert witness in a group action against the Royal Ulster Constabulary.

At the moment he teaches at Robert Gordon University in Aberdeen.

Professor Alexander was awarded an honorary degree by Abertay in 2017.
