The Gym

The university gym gives you everything you need to meet your fitness goals. We have high quality exercise equipment, ranging from Olympic platforms and bars (including a safety squat bar and shrug bar) to Eleiko plates and a squat rack. We have newly installed Matrix based Cardio kit, pin select machines and a functional trainer - everything for both new and experienced gym users.

Friendly staff are available to take you through gym inductions and discuss your training needs. There are full shower and changing facilities which can be used between lectures and tutorials.

Gym Location

The gym is located on the ground floor of the Graham Building and can be accessed through Old College or from the bottom right corner of the rear car park.

Monday-Friday 8am–9pm

Saturday 10am-4pm

Sunday closed

Gym Inductions

Book your gym induction at the reception desk, which covers:

An introduction to the facility.
The rules for the gym and how to use the equipment.

Inductions can be delivered on a group or individual basis. While we highly recommend you book an induction, if you don't book one then you accept that you use the gym, and the equipment it provides, at your own risk.

Fitness Consultations

We want to help you get fit and achieve your fitness goals as much as we can. Our staff are on hand to offer any advice or support you need. Whether you want to tone up a little, lose a bit of weight or are training for your next marathon, come and talk to our knowledgeable, helpful gym staff.
