How did the Santander Opportunities Fund help you?

I used the Opportunities Fund to attend a conference in England called Nudgestock. The funding contributed massively to my travel and accommodation costs from Scotland, the tickets for the conference and tickets to a special networking event ahead of the conference.

How has the Santander Opportunities Fund benefitted your degree and future career?

The costs associated with this conference was something that I was not in a financial position to afford on my own as a full-time student. However, this funding was amazing in both allowing me the extra opportunity to network with the speakers and attendees, but it also allowed me the opportunity to understand if this was the right sector that I planned on moving in to.

Now that you've completed your placement, what do you hope to do next?

Since attending this conference and completing my masters, I have gone on to start my own company within the field of behavioural science – closely related to topics discussed at Nudgestock. I also stay connected with the people I met at the networking event. Overall, it was a brilliant experience for me as a masters student and one I couldn’t have had without the help of Santander Opportunities Fund.
