Before you apply

We want you to help you get it right, so there are a few things you need to do before you can submit your undergraduate application.

Why apply to Abertay?

There's nothing average about Abertay University. Small, friendly AND world-class? That’s unique.

Check out the 5 good reasons to choose Abertay.

We deliver internationally recognised degrees such as Ethical Hacking and Computer Games, as well as vocational Business and Social Science degrees. Find out more about our undergraduate degrees.

Your first degree is called an undergraduate degree. Which means when you join us you're an 'undergraduate' - a university student who is studying for their first degree.

Choosing your degree

You may know the degree you want to study already, so select the course from our undergraduate course list. If you don’t know what you want to do, scroll through and see what grabs your attention. It'll feel like you're choosing your future, so start your research early.

If you're still uncertain, ask yourself three simple questions:

  1. What's my favourite subject, the one I really enjoy? You're going to be studying for four years, so you need to like what you’re doing.

  2. What am I particularly good at? Often the same answer as the one above. If you enjoy something, you’ll work harder.

  3. What kind of career do I want? This is probably the hardest one but think carefully. Write a list of your favourite activities, interests and hobbies. The answers will help you decide on a career.

Check the entry requirements

Entry requirements are the minimum qualifications you need to have in order to study the course. They're listed on each of our undergraduate degree pages

You need to meet these entry requirements, which are also called 'conditions'.

Make sure you read the specific entry requirements so you know what you need in order to study the course you apply for.
