How to apply for an undergraduate degree here at Abertay. UCAS explained, how to respond to your offer and more.

We may accept applications from international students after the 29 January deadline. However, we encourage you to apply sooner as you’ll need time to arrange your visa and accommodation.

What is UCAS?
UCAS is the Universities and Colleges Admissions Service. You use this online process to apply to all UK universities.
Both UK and international students use UCAS. The majority of applications for UK-based undergraduate degree courses are made through UCAS.
You can apply for up to five different undergraduate courses, and only need to submit one UCAS application.
How do I register for UCAS?
Complete your personal details in your UCAS account. This includes your funding and sponsorship options, residential status, and any special needs or requirements you have.
You will get your username and create a password. Keep your user name and password safe as you will need them.

UCAS also provide information about filling in your UCAS application.
A key part is your personal statement. This is your chance to show your motivation for studying the course, and why you would be a great student.
You need to spend some time writing and editing your personal statement until you’re happy with it. Take a look at the UCAS section on writing your personal statement.
We make all our offers via UCAS, so keep checking your UCAS account.
Congratulations! You have an offer to study an undergraduate degree course here at Abertay.
A conditional offer
The usual kind of offer. We have offered you a place on the course, provided you meet the requirements we set. These are called conditions. Usually this means getting specific grades in your exams. The conditions will be clearly set out in your UCAS account.
An unconditional offer
This means we’ve decided you’re already qualified for the course you have chosen. You don’t need any other specific grades or qualifications.
Log in and accept your offer in your UCAS account.
We may need you to supply your results to us, and our admissions team will email you if that is the case.
If you live outside of the UK, you will usually need a visa to study here.
