Before you Apply

Explore the three key things to check before you start the online application form.

1. You meet the entry requirements

Most Abertay Masters require a 2:2 Honours degree or equivalent. A few ask for a 2:1, but you'll find the exact requirement on each course page under 'Entry requirements'. Relevant professional experience can sometimes count in place of the academic requirement. If you're not sure, please email applications@abertay.ac.uk before you apply.

If your degree is from outside the UK: check our entry requirements by country on the respective course pages.

2. You have English language evidence

If English isn't your first language, you'll need to show evidence. We accept IELTS, TOEFL, PTE, Cambridge English and others. You can find a full list and scores on our English Language Requirements page.

3. You have your documents ready

You'll upload these inside the form, so have them to hand:

Degree transcript and certificate (interim transcript is fine if you're still studying)

Personal statement, which is around 500 words, covering why this course and why now

One or two references, preferably academic if you've just graduated, professional if you've been working

English language test certificate, if applicable

Passport copy, if you're not a UK national

Tip: if you're waiting on a final transcript, apply anyway. We can issue conditional offers and confirm once your results come through.
