BSc Computer Games Technology, 2002
After graduating, I started working in a call centre. A few months later, I decided to start my own company and began making a mobile game. I received support from the Business Gateway and the Princes Scottish Youth Business Trust, which led to me co-found Tag Games. I’ve been there ever since and I now head up the programming team. My advice to my younger self would be not to work quite so hard during the early days of Tag. It takes a lot of effort to start a company so it is important to work hard, but it is just as important to have a balance in life. Looking back, I don’t believe all of the extra hours made that much of a difference. In the future, I hope to keep making games and see Tag Games continue to grow.

Abertay helped me take a significant step closer to working in the games industry. Without Abertay then I doubt I would be working in games. Abertay has always been at the fore of gaming. Their courses are always changing and adapting to keep pace with the industry. They have strong industry links and attract talent from around the UK and the rest of the world. This is key to keeping Abertay at the top of the pile.
