Questions for lecturers

Our lecturers are experts in their field and know their subject inside out.

  • What jobs have graduates of this course gone on to do?

  • What are the facilities like for this course?

  • How many teaching hours are there per week?

  • Does the course offer work placements?

  • How many other students will be in my class?

  • How is the course assessed? Is there a mix of exams and coursework?

  • I'll be commuting into university. Will I need to come in every day? 

  • Will all my classes be in person? Or are there some online?

Questions for current Abertay students

Our student helpers are there for you. Make the most of them by asking all the questions about what life is really like as an Abertay student.

  • What do you like best about Abertay?

  • How do you get on with your tutors?

  • Is it easy to get hold of tutors outside of class?

  • What’s it like living in halls?

  • What’s it like living in Dundee?

  • Are there any sports clubs and societies I can join?

  • What’s the workload like and how do you manage your time?

  • Do you have a part time job? How do you manage that with your studies? How easy is it to find a part time job?

It’s really important you listen to an accommodation talk if you are planning to move into student halls. You’ll find all about the accommodation options, locations and prices. 

  • What’s the difference between the various halls?

  • Am I guaranteed a room?

  • When do I have to apply for accommodation?

  • Can I stay in student halls after the first year?

  • Do you organise any social events in student halls?

  • Can I stay in halls over the summer?

  • Can guests stay over?

  • Am I allowed to decorate my room?

  • What sort of things should I bring with me when living in halls?
