What happens at an Offer Holder Day?

Tailored exclusively for applicants who've received an offer to study with us, they give you the opportunity to get beneath the skin of your chosen course. Activities differ from course to course but typically you'll be able to:

  • Speak with academic staff who will guide you in your learning

  • Take part in subject-specific activities

  • Explore the campus and the facilities for your chosen subject

  • Chat to current students about their experiences at university

  • Meet other applicants from the same course as you

You’ll also find out more about:

  • Accommodation options

  • Sport and leisure opportunities, societies and available support

  • Fees and finance

  • Learning and disability support

  • Careers support and study abroad opportunities

What time do the Offer Holder Days start and finish?

Activities may start at different times so make sure you check the program once it's ready.  Degree programme sessions may also run at different times, so check those, too. Once you’ve done that you can start to plan your day and judge the best time to arrive. Allow 15 mins before the start of your first session for checking in.

How long you stay depends on what you want to do.

You won’t want to miss the degree programme activities and then if you go on a campus tour and a talk/tour about the accommodation, you’ll easily spend about four hours.

Trust us, the day will fly by.

Can I bring family or friends?

Yes, of course. If you can, try to limit the guests you bring to two, but if you have more, don’t fret, that’s fine.

Do I need to register when I arrive?

Yes, please register at the Registration Marquee. Allow 15-30 mins before the start of the first session you want to attend.

What if I’ve applied for more than one course?

If you’d appreciate some help in coming to a decision, we'd always recommend speaking to the academics for each course to help you decide.

What should I wear?

Anything you like! It's not an interview, you need to feel comfortable.

Can I book disabled parking?

For blue badge parking spaces, call us on 01382 308080 or email sro@abertay.ac.uk. There are disabled parking places in Bell Street close to the University and you're permitted to park on yellow lines if displaying a badge.

Will I be able to see something of the city of Dundee?

The Abertay campus is in the city centre, so when you’re done with us, please do go and explore, you can walk. Don’t miss the V&A Museum, it’s close to the train station.
