Scottish Students: Nursing and Midwifery Bursary

Scottish students studying for a degree in Nursing/Mental Health Nursing need to apply for the Nursing and Midwifery Students’ Bursary Scheme (NMSB). This bursary is not means-tested, and is available from Student Awards Agency for Scotland. It is listed under 'Paramedic, nursing and midwifery funding' on the SAAS website.

English, Welsh and Northern Irish Students: loans

If you live in England, Wales or Northern Ireland and are studying for a degree in Nursing/Mental Health Nursing in Scotland, you should apply to the student finance organisation relevant to where you live for a tuition fee loan and a living cost loan.

You can also find out more on our undergraduate funding pages.

EU Students

Generally, the Nursing and Midwifery Students’ Bursary Scheme (NMSB) is not available to EU undergraduate students.

However, if you have lived in the UK, or have immediate family living or working in the UK, please check the SAAS eligibility criteria or contact our Advisory Service to discuss it further.

International Students

If you are an international student not living in the EU, then you are likely to pay overseas tuition fee rates. You will also be expected to have sufficient funds available to cover your tuition fees and living costs before starting each academic year.

We understand that you’ll need to know exactly what tuition fees you’ll be paying in advance. This is why we offer a fee guarantee – the published tuition fee at your date of entry is the same amount that you will pay for each year of your undergraduate degree.

You can view our all-encompassing guide to applying for study as an international student.
