1. Study Work Create

3. Summer Schools

Many universities offer summer schools where you can learn more about a particular subject as well as experience a new culture and visit exciting new places. The opportunities are listed below: 

German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) 

The German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) is the world’s largest funding organisation for the international exchange of students, researchers, and academics. 

  • RISE Germany: RISE stands for Research Internships in Science and Engineering. A unique opportunity for undergraduate students from British and Irish universities to complete a summer research internship of 12 weeks (minimum 10 weeks) at top German universities and research institutions. All RISE scholarship holders are supported with a DAAD stipend to cover living expenses.

  • German Language and Culture Summer Courses: This programme provides scholarships to attend a broad range of three- to four-week summer courses at German universities.

  • DAAD Masters' Study Scholarships: Scholarships for highly qualified (under-)graduates of all academic disciplines for a full Masters’ degree programme at any German university, university of applied sciences, music academy or art college. The application deadlines are in autumn for a funding period for the next academic year.

  • PhD Students and Postdocs: Find lots of information about where you can conduct research and work in Germany, as well as the various opportunities science and research can offer in Germany.

ITESO Mexico Summer School

  • International Summer Program: This program allows you to live an incredible learning experience in a multicultural environment. The mix of professors from different countries encourages cultural exchange and openness to different perspectives.

Codeshare Summer School 

  • Codeshare Teaching and Learning Summer School: Join the Codeshare Teaching and Learning Summer School at Hochschule Bonn-Rhein-Sieg University of Applied Sciences for an innovative and exciting chance to learn and grow with international students from around the world. Inspired by the concept of code sharing—where different airlines jointly offer a scheduled flight—this program features cross-university courses. These project courses facilitate joint learning and cultural exchange simultaneously. In this virtually created global learning environment, students can enhance their intercultural communication skills, which are essential in our continuously globalising world.

Pécs Summer School (Hungary)

1. Combined European Studies and Leadership Skills Program (5 July - 3 August): The program includes two modules: European Studies and Leadership Skills. During the European Studies course, students will study the political, economic, cultural and social achievements and challenges of the European Union, as well as expand their knowledge on topics such as the art history, gastronomy and folk traditions of Europe. They will broaden their perspectives about the contributing factors that led to contemporary Europe, including migration, cultural diversity, gender issues. The aim of the Leadership Skills course is for students to become familiar with the leadership skills necessary to become effective, purposeful and good leaders. The main topic areas include leadership styles, strategic thinking, effective communication, team building, time management, responsibility and assertiveness.

Eligible students: Undergraduate, graduate and PhD students

Credits offered: 12 ECTS credits

Program fee: 2250 EUR

2. International Human Rights Law and Debate Academy (5 July – 3 August)

The program includes two modules: International Human Rights Law and Debate Academy. The International Human Rights Law course  will address some of the most typical issues of international human rights, including the protection of human rights in armed conflicts, the accession of the EU to the European Convention on Human Rights, the right to asylum versus national security, the human rights implications of AI systems and algorithmic decision-making, etc. The Debate course will provide students with introduction to argumentation theory, rhetoric, and with practical skills-building exercises in debate and public speaking.

Eligible students: Law students

Credits offered: 11 ECTS credits

Program fee: 2500 EUR
