I have a varied commercial, research, and teaching background in the game technology sector. Commercially, I have worked as a graphics programmer publishing titles for consoles, PC, VR, and mobile. I develop GPU shader optimisations for high fidelity real-time games and simulations across diverse hardware.
My research areas include raytracing, clustering, and compression techniques within GPGPU programming as well as optimising acceleration structures and rasterization formats. This includes utilising continuous functional representations and grammars instead of traditional polygonal rendering. Current applications for this include visualisations of cancer spheroids for drug discovery simulations.
I initially started teaching at Abertay as a laboratory demonstrator in 2009. I am currently a lecturer in game technology teaching graphics programming with shaders, games programming and co-delivering applied mathematics 1.
