Abertay launches low carbon vehicle scheme

New Abertay scheme designed to encourage staff into electric or hybrid vehicles

Abertay and GMP Drivercare staff pose with an electric car

Abertay University has launched a new Low Carbon Vehicle Salary Sacrifice Scheme designed to encourage staff into electric or hybrid vehicles.

The scheme gives Abertay staff the opportunity to lease a low carbon vehicle of their choice via partners GMP Drivercare, paid through a salary sacrifice arrangement to enable savings on tax and national insurance.

Staff can choose from a wide range of new and used vehicles with packages also including maintenance and insurance costs.

Head of Procurement Rhonda McKay said:

This new scheme will be a great benefit for staff as the University continues to support the drive towards Net Zero. Encouraging staff into more sustainable methods of transport is just one part of our wider Sustainable Development Strategy which links through to local priorities in Dundee, the Scottish and UK Government’s wider sustainability targets and the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
