Abertay University has teamed up with Santander Universities to offer 10 students the opportunity to win £1000 each.
The Brighter Futures Grants are a new initiative to provide students with funding to support their studies and can be used for a variety of purposes including living expenses such as accommodation and bills, or on study resources such as laptops, textbooks and stationery.
The grants are available to all Abertay students including undergraduates, postgraduates, part-time and full-time students. Although this initiative has been built in partnership with Santander Universities, students do not need to be a Santander customer to participate.
To apply, students just need to visit the Santander Scholarships platform using the link below and register for an account. You'll get a confirmation email straight away and then you're ready to apply for the Brighter Futures Grants.
The deadline for applications is 11pm on 30 November 2023 and once applications have closed, 10 student winners will be chosen at random.
To find out more about the Brighter Futures Grants and how you can apply, visit the Santander Scholarships website.
Nazhat Ahmed, Abertay University Business Development Officer said:
We are thrilled that ten of our students are going to win £1,000 to support them during their studies. This is a unique opportunity and one of the many ways Abertay works with internal and external partners to support students with their finances. I’d like to say a huge thank you to Santander Universities for their continuing support of Abertay and our students.
Abertay has partnered with Santander since 2018 when the University signed on to the Santander Universities Scheme.
Through our partnership, we have set up a Santander Opportunities Fund at Abertay, where students who have financially challenging circumstances can apply for funds to allow them to attend work placements, conferences and as well as travel to partner universities abroad.
The partnership has also allowed us to help student and graduate business ideas become reality through our Bell Street Ventures Initiative.
