In 2015, Shakeel pursued his Masters in Telecommunication Systems at Bahauddin Zakariya University Multan. Prior to this, he served as a Network Support Engineer for three years at the Higher Education Commission of Pakistan, honing his skills in the field.
Following his tenure, Shakeel received a prestigious fellowship at the European Organisation for Nuclear Research (CERN) in Geneva, Switzerland. Immersed in the realm of computer networks during this period, he recognised the rising demand for cybersecurity specialists in the industry.
Seeking to enhance his skillset, Shakeel, who already held a Cisco Cyber Operations certificate, saw an opportunity to further his knowledge. He found Abertay's Masters in Ethical Hacking and Cybersecurity, fully certified by the National Cybersecurity Centre under GCHQ.
What captivated Shakeel about Abertay's programme was its robust industry connections, equipping students with practical skills tailored for the competitive job market. After excelling in his Masters with distinction, Shakeel secured a position in Abertay's IT Services team as a Network Operations Officer.
Thriving in his current role, Shakeel finds immense satisfaction and enjoyment as he continues to contribute and evolve within Abertay's IT Services team.
