English Language Courses

As a team, we have over 20 years’ experience of teaching, in countries from Mexico to Sri Lanka, and in language schools, colleges and universities.

We’ve also learnt languages and, as recent Masters graduates, we understand what it’s REALLY like to be a student.

We’re part of Student Services, which means we don’t just give you the skills to succeed in your studies, we also support you in every way we can so that you can achieve your goals.

We offer a wide range of English language courses for a variety of purposes.

English for Study In-Sessional (EfS)

The English for Study programme is part of a programme of study support classes and workshops at Abertay.

The EfS programme is delivered by the Language Centre. Other sessions are provided by the Library and Student Academic Support teams.

The EfS programme is designed to help you develop your academic language and skills while you are studying here. We provide free classes to all international students currently enrolled on a degree here at the University. We also offer individual appointments where you can discuss coursework, assignments and exams.

Your attendance at these classes can be recorded in your Higher Education Achievement Record, which will show which classes you attended and the level you achieved.

Please email us for more information about the EfS programme.
