Everything you need to know about applying to Abertay after the UCAS deadline.
Yes. We accept applications through UCAS until 30 June 2026. After that date, you can apply through Clearing.
A: Yes, assuming there are places available on your chosen course.
A: UCAS Extra is a free service for applicants who have used all five choices and either received no offers or declined all their offers. It lets you apply to one additional course at a time between 26 February and early July.
A: You can still apply through Clearing, which opens in July. Clearing helps match students to courses that have remaining places. Many students successfully find their university place this way.
A: You’ll see any decision in your UCAS account. If you apply earlier, you may hear earlier. Some courses can take longer if we need more information (for example, Computer Arts and Mental Health Nursing).
A: Yes, but it depends on availability. If you’ve firmly accepted Abertay in UCAS and you’re coming as a full-time student, we’ll email you with details on how to book a room (including a booking code). If Abertay is your insurance choice, you can’t apply for our partner accommodation until you make us your firm choice. If you’re waiting on August results, options may be more limited by then. If rooms are full, we can point you to other options (private renting or other providers).
A: If you’re waiting for your results in August, you can only apply through Clearing once you have them. If you don’t meet the conditions of an offer, Clearing can help you find a course with places available. Once you have your results, our Clearing team can talk it through on LiveChat or by phone. If we can offer you a place, we’ll normally do that verbally, then ask you to complete a short form and upload your qualifications before we confirm by email. If you’ve narrowly missed your grades, it’s still worth speaking to us about your options.
