Reason for joining Court

My motivation for standing for election to Court stemmed from my personal association with Abertay University. Growing up locally, I experienced the transformative potential of university study when I first came to Abertay in 2001. I am a firm believer in the mission of Abertay University and of its critical role in widening access to education in the region. I understand that my role as a member of Court carries an important responsibility to support the ongoing success and sustainability of the university.

Biography

Robin is an artist, game maker, and game studies researcher who holds the position of Professor of Game Design and Culture at Abertay University. He has published his research in leading games journals and conferences, including Games and Culture, the Journal of Gaming and Virtual Worlds, Games: Research and Practice, DiGRA, and with CRC Press. He is also a member of the university Research Executive representing the Faculty of Design, Informatics, and Business, and teaches across undergraduate and postgraduate provision in the Department of Games & Arts.
