Synopsis
An original comic book which explores mental health in an interesting way. My aim is to help destigmatise mental illnesses and to allow readers to relate to the characters regardless of their experience with mental health.
The book follows a teenage boy, Corey, who has a rough life living with his father after losing his mother. He idolises his local superhero and dreams of becoming a hero for others to look up to. However, Corey also sees things that others do not which proves difficult for him to handle.
Voice of a Feather
An original comic book following a boy who idolises a superhero and the boy’s struggle with mental health.
Motivation
I've always been interested in comic books but never properly started reading them until recently. The stories and worlds in their pages are like nothing else. I've discovered so many great books and realised how many of them, including big name comics like Marvel's Daredevil, deal with mental health issues.
I have found during my time at university that I am happiest when I am drawing.
