Encouraging daily movement through mobile gamification.

Bridging the gap between sedentary behaviour and regular movement is essential to improve the populations physical and mental health. This project focuses on encouraging players to get outside and walk as it is a highly accessible form of exercise. Brisk walking is effective for lowering blood pressure and increasing your energy, all whilst being low risk and free! Through analysing common motivations and barriers to exercise, along with mobile app design principles, this prototype focuses on showcasing how social features, coopetition and gamification techniques can help encourage and support sedentary individuals to get active and build a healthy habit long term.
