Foreshadowing in Level Design

In this prototype, you'll explore a mysterious fantasy world you find yourself in with no context, and you must run and jump through obstacles in order to determine the nature of this world. Collect gems that lead you to secrets, avoid the foes that wander the environment, and immerse yourself in this wondrous adventure crammed full of things to find in the background. This game draws inspiration from popular titles such as Journey, due to the use of telling a narrative through the environment, and Klonoa, for linear structure. This game also functions as a proof of concept, setting the foundation for future development.

Project Motivation

This project is part of a much bigger one - one that I've wanted to start since before I even knew game design was a possibility. I went into my course at Abertay with the intention of designing a small proof of concept of my vision by the end of my degree, and this is the result. It's not quite what I envisioned, and it will continue to evolve in ways I don't expect, but I think that this is a natural part of the growth of my project and I embrace it.
