Synopsis
Originally, my project focused on the history of the post-mortem process, better known then, as autopsy. However, as I continued to work on my project, it continued to evolve until I realised that I wanted to focus on post-mortem as a whole, allowing me to take a closer look into and illustrate things such as decomposition, autopsies, embalming and the pinnacle cause of death. My final deliverable will be an illustrated book that brings death to the forefront and will hopefully be loved by both my fellow artists and those interested in post-mortem.
The Post Mortem: Illustrated
My project focuses on creating illustrations revolving around the theme of post-mortem such as decomposition, autopsies, embalming and the pinnacle cause of death.
Project Motivation
I've always been curious about post-mortem. My dream job was to actually be a mortician or go into forensic anthropology. Unfortunately, I've never been much of an academic, but I was good at art so this project is like an ode to my dream.
