A Song for Sinners: Interactive Storytelling in Gothic Horror

'A Song for Sinners' is a short, first-person game prototype which utilises techniques of interactive storytelling in order to craft a unique gothic horror experience. Specifically, this project tells the tale of a failing folk singer who, through spiritual torment and ghostly hijinks, is forced to face the consequences of his vices - upon him and his family. By deploying techniques of interactive storytelling, 'A Song for Sinners' aims to evolve the audiences emotional response to the classic conventions already established within the fantastic and terrifying gothic horror genre.

Project Motivation

I love the struggling artist character, as well as the gothic horror flawed hero protagonist, and was excited to tell a story which combined them. I also just love things that are extremely weird, hence 'The Lighthouse' being a major influence in my project.
