Shown through the medium of a short first-person interactive narrative game, 'a memory of this' replays my memories of one of the harder evenings alone, sitting in bed and trying to cope with the consequences of being a victim of sexual violence. The player experiences the fear of remembering and the challenge of reaching out to loved ones to receive support, dealing with rejection and gathering the strength to try again. This game is meant to show that pain and trauma don't end when the traumatic event ends and that everyday occurrences can suddenly be overwhelming and hard to cope with. But also that victims are not suffering all alone and that receiving support from loved ones is incredibly uplifting and strengthening.
