Improving Diversity by exploring Afrofuturism through Character Design

My project is the development two 3D game characters inspired by the movement of Afrofuturism.

My methodology included visual research into African culture, 2D concept art and 3D modelling to produce fully rendered images. I used research of effective character design to influence my decision making when considering of the look of my characters. I have taken thought to incorporate interesting shapes that help represent the personality and character of my models.

My aim is to effectively show just how vibrant African culture can be when used within media, and how it should be used as a pivotal influence to make the gaming world more diverse.
