Recovery Blue - UI Eating Disorder Recovery App Design

“Recovery Blue - UI Eating Disorder Recovery App Design” is a 2021 Digital Graduate Show project by Amena Vindhani, a Computer Arts student at Abertay University.

Synopsis

Technology is at the tip of our fingers. As the healthcare industry is moving digital, it is important that organisations are allowing their users to trust them with their health needs. My application focuses on eating disorders and how visual representations should be considered when it comes to supporting emotions and identifying triggers during a users’ recovery.

Diving into colour and design, Recovery Blue is designed to help anyone regain their trust with food. The app focuses on colour, user experience, illustration design, typeface and icons. Each section shows how psychology is used to target a certain audience, feeling or emotion. For example, colour is used to target certain emotions towards businesses and organisations for example, just like how the NHS uses blue to show trust and confidence. I want everyone to have a comfortable relationship with food and to be able to target their thoughts and feelings towards it.
