Biography

Research interest

Musah’s PhD comprehensively investigated credit unions’ innovation across four countries including Northern Ireland (NI), the Republic of Ireland (ROI), Scotland and Ghana. It is the first study to report on the range of product, service and process innovations in credit unions and to identify how these differ across countries at different stages of development. The lines of inquiry in the study include the contextual definition of innovation, innovation process of credit unions, forms and types of innovation, innovation policy and strategy, factors influencing innovation adoption and the determinants of innovation in credit unions. This has sparked research interest in this area and postgraduate students are welcome to contact me for supervision. Musah’s research interests also extend to corporate governance and the roles of board of directors in innovation of for-profit and non-profit organisations, the economics of innovation, as well as Private and Public Partnerships (PPP) for economic development. He has presented his research in conferences and published his works in these areas with a book on corporate governance and partnership for economic development. In terms of methodology, he has expertise in qualitative and mixed methods approach to academic research.
