We chatted to 4th year students, producer/designer Emelie Edholm and environment artist Sara Leone, about their working process, their time studying at Abertay and being members of Thunder Lime – the winning team of Dare Academy 2018 for their beautiful and imaginative game Kinoko.
Clare is Curator within External and Corporate Relations, and Lecturer in the School of Design and Informatics. Clare develops activities that engage contemporary artists, producers and researchers to inspire new collaborations and generate fresh knowledge.
Primarily this is delivered through Weave: creativity, community, collaboration, creating a vibrant programme of cultural events that share local and global creativity, through pop-up events across the city.
Clare is interested in the intersection of between digital technology, performance and community engagement. She enjoys working with artists, designers, theatre makers, performers, dancers and the wider community.
Dan, an Engagement Officer with Weave, is a musician, writer and performer, based in Dundee since 2005. Passionate about collaboration, DIY music culture and the intersections of creative communities, Dan has been working in festival and events organisation professionally and otherwise since graduating from university in 2009.
With experience in exhibitions and theatre tech complementing his background in events, Dan is keen to put his skills to good use in supporting a healthy, growing and inclusive arts scene in Dundee. When not at work, Dan can most often be found behind a guitar or staring at a keyboard.
Susie, also an Engagement Officer, is an artist, performer and producer who graduated from the University of Dundee in 2017. During her time at university she helped to organise a number of exhibitions and performance events, both in Dundee and while studying abroad in Budapest. Before joining the Weave team she worked at a variety of arts festivals across Scotland.
Although not a native Dundonian, Susie has fallen in love with the city over the last 6 years and is now very happy to call it home. She is extremely passionate about contributing to Dundee’s ever-growing creative scene and finding new opportunities to collaborate with a diverse range of artistic practitioners.
