Students from Abertay University held a Sport-Athlon aiming to raise £10,000 for charity.

Abertay Sport staged the 10-hour event at the Lynch Sports Centre in Dundee on Friday April 27 to benefit cancer charities Coppafeel and the Oddballs Foundation.

Teams of 10 took part in 10 sports, including volleyball, football, netball, badminton, dodgeball, hockey, touch-tennis, basketball, hockey and dance.

In addition to sporting action, there was music, a raffle, bake sales, face-painting and a photo station.

A celebratory ‘unofficial’ sports awards was then held at Abertay Student Centre from 8pm onwards.

Ryan Beattie of Abertay Sport said: “The Sport-Athlon has been loads of fun and a great way to round-off the academic year while raising funds for two amazing charities in the process.

"I'm really proud of the way our sports students have got behind the event, showing the community spirit that has become part of the way we operate at Abertay."
