How to Apply for Accommodation

Are you ready to apply for Accommodation?

  1. Have you firmly accepted your conditional or unconditional offer via UCAS?

  2. Are you going to be a full-time first year student?

  3. Have you received our email about accommodation bookings being open?

  4. If so, you're ready to apply for your new room.

How to book your room

Once you've firmly accepted your offer to study at Abertay University so you're definitely intending to study with us in September, you'll get an email inviting you to apply for a room. Click the link(s) in the email and use the email code we sent to book your room.

Parker House: how to apply

  1. You'll receive an email with a special booking code.

  2. Book on the Parker House website.

  3. Input the email code.

  4. Choose your room type.

  5. Register/login to the website.

  6. Book your room.

  7. You'll pay £100 deposit*, which secures your booking. This comes off your first month’s rent. (You have 72 hours to complete this step.)

  8. Fill in the details of a guarantor. (This is a person who agrees to pay the rent if you don't, such as a parent or a close relative.)

  9. All done? Your new room is booked. See you in September!

*If you don't meet the conditions of your offer in August, or your visa is refused, the £100 will be refunded.

Your first month's rent payment needs to be paid in full before you can move in. Your first month's rent is due on 1 August, and if you don't meet the conditions of your offer, you will be fully refunded. 

Lyon Street Terrace: how to apply

  1. Go to their website using the link we email to you. You’ll also receive a special booking code.

  2. Choose your room type.

  3. Click the ‘Reserve Now’ button.

  4. Complete your application form using the booking code and hit ‘Submit’.

  5. The accommodation company allocates your room.

  6. They will send you an email with instructions and a link to their online portal, the StudentHub.

  7. Click that link and use your email address to create your StudentHub account.

  8. Review your tenancy agreement in the StudentHub, along with the terms and conditions. (These form the contract between you and the accommodation provider.)

  9. Review these and tick the box to agree to the tenancy agreement and terms and conditions.

  10. Your guarantor will be emailed a link to accept their responsibilities. (This is a person who agrees to pay the rent if you don’t, such as a parent or close relative.)

  11. Pay your £100 deposit in the StudentHub. The deposit is refunded at the end of your tenancy so long as your rent payments are up to date and your flat is left in the agreed condition.

  12. You pay rent via the StudentHub on the dates listed in your tenancy agreement.

Priority groups and allocation

New students from outside the Dundee area (postcodes DD1-5), students with disabilities, and care leavers are given priority when booking accommodation.

If you are a care leaver or have a disability where you need additional support, please contact our advisory team to discuss your needs before booking your accommodation. Please put 'Accommodation additional support' in the email subject line.

Abertay has no control over room allocation for other groups.

Please note: you must have FIRMLY ACCEPTED your Abertay offer before you can apply for accommodation.
