A suite of four credit-bearing courses

There are four courses within Managing Transformational Change. They will help you lead and manage change successfully within your organisation and gain an accredited university qualification. 

Courses and Start Dates 

Each course lasts two weeks. All are now closed for bookings.

Who are the Courses For?

They are for many different  types of people, whether you are working, furloughed, have been made redundant, are an owner or manager within a small business or work in the charity sector. The short courses will help you prepare for a new career or upskill in your current job. They will give you change management skills valued by all business sectors.

How is Each Course Delivered?

  • Interactive sessions over two weeks

  • 100% online.

  • Practical application.

  • Assessed via an online quiz.

  • Delivered by knowledgeable and experienced lecturers. 

  • Each course is a 5-credit module, fully funded by the Scottish Funding Council so free to applicants.

  • Each course will account for a total of 50 hours of your time, including independent study.  It is flexible to suit your schedule and home commitments.

Understanding Transformational Change in a Digital World

Course Content

5 SCQF credits | level 8

The course introduces you to the context of contemporary business by examining the technologically driven business environment. You will examine the role of technology in transforming business from the first to fourth industrial revolutions. Additionally you will gain a critical perspective on the future of work in an increasingly digital world, and how, businesses need to transform to compete/survive.

Topics include:

  • The Fourth Industrial Revolution.

  • Technology and Transformation: from Taylor to AI.

  • The Future of Work – a critical perspective.

  • Adapting for Survival – digital transformation and COVID. 

  • Sustainable Business.

Opportunities and Threats in Managing Change

Course Content

5 SCQF credits | level 8

The course introduces you to analysing the change context and the drivers for change and the human resource issues in transformative change.

Topics include:

  • The change context – globalisation, technology and changing market dynamics. 

  • Resistance to Change.

  • The psychological contract. 

  • Organisation Culture – habits and unlearning.

Transformational Leadership in a Changing World

This course introduces you to the strategies and competencies required to lead and manage transformational change.

Topics include:

  • Transactional and transformational leadership. 

  • Competency Framework for transformational leadership. 

  • Values and value-based systems in transformational change.
