Career Advice for International Students

What does Abertay's Careers Service offer?

We provide friendly, confidential impartial career help and advice. Our careers service covers resources and advice for all students, including our  international students and graduates.

We know that you are likely to have specific questions about your future career and the UK labour (job) market, and we can help with that.

While what we do may be different to your home country, we aim to assist you as much as we can with your career plans while you're here.  We support you throughout your studies, and for up to three years after you graduate from Abertay.

Understanding the UK graduate job market

We can help you understand the UK graduate job market, and how it works.

This covers the competitive process involved in securing an opportunity. This means filing in application forms, writing your resume (CV) and cover letter, practising for job interviews and more.

Terminology can be confusing - for instance, here your resume is called a 'CV' and the labour market is called the job market. We will help guide you through this and explain areas like graduate employment/job schemes, as well as providing you with careers guidance for up to three years after graduation.

Visit the Careers Service intranet page for more information.
